Research

Our research focuses on the characterization and engineering of light-matter interactions in two quantum material platforms: cooled neutral atoms and solid-state quantum emitters in wide-bandgap semiconductors such as diamond. The above images from our previous work are representative of some of our research directions:

  • Manipulation and imaging of atomic ensembles and nanoscale solid-state defects
  • VIS-NIR photonics for quantum instruments
  • Atom interferometry for quantum sensing and metrology
  • Characterizations and applications of artificial atoms in the solid-state
